Born and raised up in Hilgrove. Moved to Guyra (after marriage?). Moved to Austinmere and later Hurstville. Number in register 94 16355 He was a wheelwright by trade, which involved knowing how to do a lot of fitting and machining. He was a maintenance engineer in the mines at Coal Cliffe colliery at Austinmeer until 1935 when they moved from Austinmeer to 105 Dora St, Hurstville. They built their house at Edith St in about 1938. Dad was working for Hoffman Engineering at Stoney Creek Rd, Kingsgrove on aircraft parts and gun parts for army supplies. Because of his engineering background, he was exempt from active service.During the war he was a member of the National Emergency Service (NES) and was a warden. After the war he worked for the same firm for approx. 10 more years until 1950, when he went to Lister Blackstones as chief engineer in charge of maintenance, stopping there approx. 5 years when he moved as Chief Engineer in charge of maintenance to Hardie Rubber Company in Rushcutters Bay. After this he worked at IRC resistors at Kingsgrove.

Josephine (daughter of John DAVIES and Mary A NORTHY) was born on 17 Sep 1896 in Metz, , New South Wales, Australia; died on 31 Jan 1974 in Hurstville, , New South Wales, Australia; was buried in Rookwood Cematorium, Rookwood, , New South Wales, Australia.
