  Married: Parish Register No. 267 Banns between William Higgitt and Ann Godwin were published on 26th Augt, 2nd, 9th Sept. William Higgitt of the Parish of Rugeley and County of Stafford and Ann Godwin of the Parish and County aforesaid married in this church by Banns, 24 Sept 1810 by Charles Inge, Vicar. Signed: William Higgitt, Ann Godwin (both competent hand) In the presence of: Thos Higgitt, Peggy Godwin (mark of) NB: No 280 is also for an Ann Godwin (married Benjamin Burton) and also witnessed by Peggy Godwin, April 1811. There are several Godwin's in the registers at this time. William's brother John married Elizabeth Godwin (but not in Rugeley). There may be a hatter / Congregational link.
