William Higgitt of the Parish of Rugeley and County of Stafford and Ann Godwin of the Parish and County aforesaid married in this church by Banns, 24 Sept 1810 by Charles Inge, Vicar. NB: No 280 is also for an Ann Godwin (married Benjamin Burton) and also witnessed by Peggy Godwin, April 1811.
There are several Godwin's in the registers at this time. William's brother John married Elizabeth Godwin (but not in Rugeley). There may be a hatter / Congregational link.
